Don’t I need a journal mailbox for legally compliant archiving?

That’s right. Using Exchange Online’s journaling functionality, EL mailarchive is able to automatically archive all incoming and outgoing emails from every mailbox. This is the only way to ensure that all emails are archived in full.

Thanks to the EL mailarchive gateway mailbox, you can do without third-party journaling and archiving mailboxes. We offer a free journal mailbox for this purpose to customers using Microsoft Exchange Online, Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.

We will therefore set up the EL mailarchive gateway mailbox in the background as soon as the request is made. You can create a mailbox for this purpose in the instance properties. Please click on the ‘GATEWAY MAILBOX’ button.

You will then be shown the access details and can use these in the Admin Centre for Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace as the journal destination mailbox; you can also configure the necessary archiving settings for this in the EL mailarchive client for the archiving profile.
